CourseGraphic This course provides students with a basic level of knowledge and skills to provide safe, effective resident care. Students must attend 33 hours of clinical rotation in a Long Term Care facility, in addition to 57 hours of classroom time with an instructor. This nurse aide course meets the training requirements of The Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1987 (OBRA) for aides working in nursing facilities (NF) and skilled nursing facilities (SNF).

Course Comments: Completed and cleared background check (state law), physical, and to Step TB test required prior to 1st day of class. If not completed/cleared, you will not be allowed to attend class. Scrub outfit (any color/style) and gait belt required for clinical. Textbook and gait belt can be purchased at ICCC bookstore, from internet, or borrowed from someone (student choice).

Transfers to credit as HSC-172 for 3 credits.
